So I had a great birthday with my fiance, brother, and friends. Started off running the SL half marathon with Mike - that was actually a lot of fun. I did my best to keep up, but did end up losing the sprint in the end by three seconds. Props to Mike for his continued race domination. I tried to give myself an edge by slurping down a Hammer Gel with a couple miles left, but unknowingly dropping my wallet in the middle of State Street in the process. After the race I eventually checked my phone and I see an email from a stranger notifying my that he has my wallet. After not being able to get a hold of him, we went back to Jennifer's place and found that she also received an email from him that he has my wallet?!?
So this guy apparently picked up my wallet (with cash) in the middle of his run, took it upon himself to find me rather than give it to lost and found (which would be a headache if I ever get it back), googled my name, found our wedding website, compared photos with my drivers license, and used our 'Contact Us' page to email us. What a saint!
Lessons learned -
- When you're an idiot and drop your wallet in the middle of State Street during a race have a super honest detective-guy named Sterling pick it up.
- If you're wondering if a wedding website is worth the trouble . . . the answer is yes.
